As we begin the second trimester, we look back on 3 months of tremendous success! Students have developed letters of interest for employment, explored various work opportunities, completed job applications, participated in multiple interviews and have secured volunteer opportunities and/or paid employment. Much focus has been spent on leading a self-determined life, goal setting and taking action to achieve the life they want to live. Students have also spent time developing and strengthening academic skills through ACT KeyTrain while also increasing money management skills through various classroom and community experiences.
This week, we had the opportunity to listen to a guest speaker from Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Anita Fudge. She shared information regarding the available services and eligibility process. Additional resource information was provided within a folder provided to each student. I will be happy to answer any further questions you may have regarding potential service options.
Students have received a copy of their progress report for the first trimester and have had the opportunity to conference individually with me. Parents will be receiving a copy of their student's progress report in the mail. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
